LEADERSHIP

Leading With Alignment Under Pressure

– A Case Study

The Challenge

As organisations grow, leadership decisions increasingly involve ambiguity, interdependence and risk. One organisation wanted its leaders to strengthen three critical capabilities:

Decision Quality • Alignment • Risk Ownership Under Pressure

These became the foundation of a customised leadership intervention.

What Mustardseed Did

Mustardseed designed a customised experiential leadership programme rather than a generic leadership workshop.

The process began with stakeholder and participant inputs, followed by customisation around the organisation’s leadership context. The core experience was supported by a post-program reinforcement conversation and an HR support conversation so the intervention did not end when the programme ended.

Through experiential situations, leaders were required to respond, decide and work together under pressure, allowing leadership behaviour to become visible rather than remaining theoretical.

The Outcome

The experience created a stronger shared focus around decision quality, alignment and ownership.

More importantly, it gave the organisation a common reference point for continuing leadership conversations after the intervention, supported by reinforcement rather than treating leadership development as a one-time event.
